Comments: Don't ask Hal how the cosmetics got challenged or I will get in trouble all over again.
For the price, I looked up the car on Kelly's Blue Book and doubled the fair condition price which is right around $5,000. Cars are double here, no gettin' around it. Then Hal looked up the car on ticocarros.com and the cheapest Rav4 is 4,400,000 colones! Which is double our price… hmmmm. Ticos are notorious for starting off negotiations at 50%. All my long time expat and local friends told me so. Maybe that explains it? Those cars are all dealer cars in better shape, so they say, with fewer miles. If you believe a dealer's odometer. Not that I wouldn't.
Is the car still available?
Hi! I’m a tico and I really love what you’ve done with your webpage!!! I hope you still enjoying the natural world out here! It’s great to hear people saying so many good things about the country… Hope you can stay forever! I was wondering if you stil got the car on sale?? Thanks.
Hola Julio,
Gracias! Disculpeme, el carro ya esta vendido.
What I hope I said is Thank you. I’m sorry, the car is sold.
I’m glad to know that you have been entertained! We are leaving for what we hope will be a relatively short “visit” to the states.
Pura vida! See you next time around.
