Hey, wait a minute. Maybe I’m not suffering from menopause after all…

That is incredible! So glad I gave up my cell phone, permanently. I still wonder about the microwave though… Thanks for sharing, I never would have guessed you could pop corn with a cell phone.
I think this one’s an urban legend. Here’s a good launching point for reading about it: http://www.snopes.com/science/cookegg.asp
That said, while I don’t think my phone is going to pop corn, I still don’t use my cell phone too frequently. I really am getting tired of waiting for my landline from ICE!

The boys are going to try this for themselves… I’ll keep you posted! And yesterday I visited a doctor with my mom. He said since the cell-phone-on-the-hip phenom, cancers in that area of the body (prostrate, colon, ovarian) have had a marked increase… Oh, goody, more stuff to scare us. Good luck with your landline. The really frustrating thing is that you never really know what’s the hold-up…
I have heard about the phone-on-the-hip/cancer link too. Apparently some physicians are now telling pregnant women not to keep their cell phones on their persons for the reasons you mentioned. The effect of a cell phone so near a developing baby are not known. It just makes me uncomfortable and so I try to avoid carrying my phone anywhere near my body.
I am sooooo not holding my breath for that landline. It’s been on order for a year and, since we are leaving in a year, I am not expecting that I will ever have a landline here in CR. Asi es Costa Rica!
