For me, it’s that whole "other person warms up the bed first" thing. That is THE BEST and probably why I almost never go to bed before him. And you need it here – it is COLD on this mountain!!! Of course, I guess I could use hot bricks like in the olden days. They let you sleep.
WOW! I never realized hot bricks existed outside of my grandparents’ house (I lived with them for a bit while in grade school). We’d heat them up on the gas stove, bundle them in the neat cloth “brick-cases” my grandmother had made and voila, who needs a heater?!
Grandma turned 102 in May, I’ll have to ask if she misses the toasty bricks. Thanks for the memory reminder, Saratica!
